How many days have we been together?

Enter the day you got together below. The calculator counts that day as Day 1, the same way the Duoleaf app does, and shows how many days, weeks and months you have shared, plus the dates of your next round numbers like Day 1,000 and your next anniversary. It runs in your browser and the date is never sent anywhere. To see the number every morning without coming back here, add it to Duoleaf: Home and the free widget update by themselves.

Why Duoleaf: Your number on Home and on a free widget, and a small 2-minute ritual that grows a plant on days you both show up.

Duoleaf counts your days on Home. The day you got together is Day 1.

How the count works

There are two ways people count, and both are fine as long as you pick one:

  • Day 1 style (this page and the Duoleaf app): the day you got together is Day 1, so tomorrow is Day 2. It reads like "our 1,000th day".
  • Days since style: the first day is day 0, so the number is one lower. It reads like "1,000 days since".

Leap days are counted like any other day. Months and years are calendar months and years, so "2 years, 3 months" means the same date two years and three months later.

Which date should we use?

Couples use different starting points: the first date, the day you made it official, the day you moved in, or the wedding. There is no right answer. Pick the one you both smile at. If you had a break, most couples keep the original date. We wrote more about it in the questions below.

Keep the number on your phone

In Duoleaf you add your date once and Home shows "Day N together". Either of you can change the date, and the other sees a small note, so nothing changes silently. The widget shows the same number on your home screen and comes free with the app. Duoleaf is on Android now; the iPhone version is on its way.

The number grows by itself. The plant grows only when you both show up: each of you does a gentle 2-minute session, wherever you are, and the plant gets a leaf on every day you both made it.

Questions

Do you count the first day as day 1 or day 0?

This calculator and the Duoleaf app count the day you got together as Day 1. If you prefer "days since", subtract one.

When do you start counting days together, from the first date or when it became official?

Either works. Many couples use the day they made it official, others the first date. Choose the date you both like and keep it.

If we broke up for a while, do we reset the counter?

It is your call. Most couples keep the original date. In Duoleaf either partner can change the date later, and the other sees a note.

Is my date saved or sent anywhere?

No. The calculation runs in your browser and the date is not sent to us or stored.

Can I see the count as a widget?

Yes. Duoleaf has a free home-screen widget on Android that shows your day count and whether you both did today's 2 minutes. iPhone is on its way.

Plant your first leaf today.

Two minutes each. One plant for two.
