What reviewers ran into
The angriest couple-app reviews we read were about billing: "I have to pay $40 and my partner has to pay $40", trials charged in full, and charges after cancelling. Few in number, but they come from people who were ready to pay.
Checklist before you start a trial
- Does one purchase cover both of you? Look for it in the FAQ, not only in the ads.
- When does the trial charge, and will you get a reminder?
- Is it billed by Google Play or the App Store? Then you cancel there, in Subscriptions.
- What stays free if you don't pay?
How Duoleaf does it
Free for both, no time limit: the daily 2 minutes from a rotating set, the shared plant, the counter, the widget, reminders and nudges, and 1 rain day a month. Duo Premium adds every session on any day, 2 rain days a month, new plants and pots, and an optional second round. US$39.99 a year with 7 days free first (a reminder on day 5), or US$7.99 a month, billed by Google Play.
Questions
If my partner pays for Duo Premium, do I get it?
Yes. While their subscription is active, you are covered too and never see the plans.
What if the payer cancels?
Premium ends for both at the end of the paid period. Your plant keeps its pot and species, and the free tier stays.
Where do I cancel?
In Google Play, under Payments and subscriptions. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
