Privacy Policy

This privacy policy applies to the app (hereby referred to as "Application") for mobile devices that was created by (hereby referred to as "Service Provider") as a Freemium service. This service is intended for use "AS IS".

Information Collection and Use

Duoleaf is a daily habit for two people. To make that work, the Application stores the following:

Your name, days, plant and settings are stored in Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore) on servers in Europe.

When you share an invite link, anyone who opens that link sees your first name and your plant's name on the invite page (for example "Alex invited you to grow Olive."), until the invite is used, replaced or expires. Nothing else about you is shown there.

The Application does not gather precise information about the location of your mobile device, and it does not read your contacts.

The Service Provider does not send you marketing messages. We only use your push token for the reminders you turn on.

Advertising ID and Google Mobile Ads SDK. The Android version of the Application includes the Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) SDK as part of the framework it is built on, and the iPhone version includes the same SDK. Ads are turned off: the Application does not show ads and does not request or load ads. Through Google Play services and Firebase Analytics the Application can read your device's advertising ID, which is used for analytics only (to count installs and understand how the Application is used), never for advertising, ad personalization or marketing. You can reset or delete your advertising ID at any time in your device settings (Android: Settings, Privacy, Ads). On iPhone the Application does not ask for permission to track you, so it cannot read the advertising identifier.

Third Party Access

Only aggregated, anonymized data is periodically transmitted to external services to aid the Service Provider in improving the Application and their service. The Service Provider may share your information with third parties in the ways that are described in this privacy statement.

Please note that the Application utilizes third-party services that have their own Privacy Policy about handling data. Below are the links to the Privacy Policy of the third-party service providers used by the Application:

The Service Provider may disclose User Provided and Automatically Collected Information:

This website (duoleaf.app)

The website works without cookies. If you choose "Accept" in the banner, the site loads Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Limited) to count visits, the pages people read, the country and device type, and clicks on the store buttons and the days-together calculator. It sets first-party cookies (_ga, _ga_*) for up to 2 years. Google signals and ad personalisation are off, and the dates you type into the calculator are never sent. If you choose "Decline", or make no choice, Google Analytics is not loaded at all. You can change your choice any time with "Cookie settings" at the bottom of every page. Legal basis: your consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)). Store links carry a campaign name so Google Play can tell which page an install came from; this does not identify you. Invite pages (/j/...) never load analytics.

Opt-Out Rights

You can stop the Application from collecting new information by uninstalling it. Uninstalling alone does not remove what is already stored on our servers. To remove it, use the options below. You can also turn reminders off in Settings or in your device settings, and opt out of analytics collection in your device's privacy settings.

Data Retention and Deletion

The Service Provider keeps your data for as long as you use the Application. In the Application, go to Settings and tap "Delete my data". This removes your name, your days and your half of the shared plant from our servers. If you were paired, your partner keeps the plant in their garden. You can also ask for deletion by emailing and the Service Provider will respond in a reasonable time. Step-by-step instructions, and what is deleted and kept, are on the Delete your account and data page. Subscriptions are managed in the App Store or Google Play, and deleting your data does not cancel a subscription.

Children

The Service Provider does not use the Application to knowingly solicit data from or market to children under the age of 13.

The Application does not address anyone under the age of 13. The Service Provider does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13 years of age. In the case the Service Provider discover that a child under 13 has provided personal information, the Service Provider will immediately delete this from their servers. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact the Service Provider () so that they will be able to take the necessary actions.

Security

The Service Provider is concerned about safeguarding the confidentiality of your information. The Service Provider provides physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect information the Service Provider processes and maintains.

Changes

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time for any reason. The Service Provider will notify you of any changes to the Privacy Policy by updating this page with the new Privacy Policy. You are advised to consult this Privacy Policy regularly for any changes, as continued use is deemed approval of all changes.

This privacy policy is effective as of .

Your Consent

By using the Application, you are consenting to the processing of your information as set forth in this Privacy Policy now and as amended by us.
